Gears of war- cog tags question

Hi,
I'm new to Gears of war. How do find cog tags? Also-what do they like?

They look like Cog's with a chain, i.e. Dog tags, but with a cog. They are bright white/blue and there are 30 in the game.

You should also see a big red Gears of war symbol in the area where the tags are.
