Is it supposed to look like this?

This was running DX10 with vsync. The shadow looked more natural in DX9 mode.

I had the exact same problem and i have no idea what causes it, i tried updating my direct x but that didnt work, updating graphics drivers, that didnt work either, personally id say its down to the drivers and direct x 10, just gotta wait for em to mature.
Its amazing how consoles always have crisp and amzing graphics and never have these major problems, oh wait these are pc's, yes thats right we have to buy exremely pricey items to get edges looking a little bit smoother.

PCs have a virtually infinite number of possible configurations. Consoles have a single uniform platform on which to run the program. It is far easier to produce a bug-free product when your hardware, operating system and interface are set in stone.

Who's to say where the problem lies. Could very well be the game, but it could also be the video driver, a problem with the API, or some other random incompatability.
