An Xbox 360.

Not confirmed to be arriving on the PC any time in the next couple of years I don't think.

I recall reading that microsoft have said it won't be coming on pc despite the rumours going about.

No they said it was a mistake that Gears of war was on some display for "games for windows". They didn't actually say it wasn't coming out.

But equally, they haven't said it is.

Of course they haven't. It is the 360s killer ap. They want PC users to buy a 360 for this game. If they revealed it would be coming to the PC in the next year or so then it would lose them a good few sales no doubt.

I was wondering, who retains the IP for this game? Is it Epic or MS? Surely if it was Epic then it would be down to them whether it came to PC or not? Unless of course they have an exclusivity agreement for a set period with MS (most likely i guess).

Theres still rumours floating about it will arrive on the PC but just for the Vista platform towards end of 2007.

But all rumours and who knows.

Hearing the games not that much fun or good single player anyhow so pretty much moved on/

'Xbox360 Exclusive' moniker lasts for 6 months, after that the game can go to any platform.

Then you are hearing wrong :)

It's quite short, but other than that it's an awesome game :)

Was so fed up with my EVGA 680i motherboard that I went out and bought GoW yesterday. I have to say, its hands down the single most impressive game I've ever played. I'm not all the way through it yet but the way it plays, its just something totally new.

I've been bored with PC and console gaming for a couple of years now but this truly surprised me, the graphics are as you've seen stunning and the gameplay imo is a real breath of fresh air, the cover system is amazing and I personally find it creates an exceptional atmosphere. Ok so I'm playing on an 80" projector with 7.1 but still, I've not felt so immersed since the first HL.

I agree with this, its not perfect but it is defiantly a nice change from what everybody else is doing. Since HL (and it's mods) and BF1942 its hard to point out a shooter that has really done much different, some of them have been great fun but they haven’t brought anything new to the table. This game really does, in both single and multiplayer you are having experiences that you haven’t had before.
I really love the very small scale, tactical multiplayer at a time when everybody else seems to be trying to cram in as many players as possible onto generic, lifeless, giant maps.

Ignor mode on :p

No way gonna buy an Xbox360 just for Gears of War

A few people saying on the console forum its not all that special and online is quite limited and bores quickly...

Dunno cant really tell/

Regardless hopefully if arrives on the PC, if not plenty other better games due on both platforms for 2007 :)

There will always be "a few people" as no-one enjoys every game out there. For the majority however, GoW is one of the best games of the current generation, and can put multi-thousand pound rigs to shame.

Ill go with the few people and hugg my pc :p

Well I'm not telling you to go out and buy a 360 just for GoW but I will tell you are missing out on what is in my opinion (and i've been playing games for 10 + years and 3 games professionally) a very special game indeed. Quite simply the PC has nothing that compares in the fps/3rd person fps genre. I found FEAR/Farcry etc all minor variations on the same theme, GoW actually makes me want to keep playing and provides a challenge, something I find PC games severely lacking.

Indeed, I remember on this forum when HL2 came out I think that actually there were more people putting the game down than saying it was ace. Really; I sometimes wonder what people expect of games.
