2 questions:

1) better gameplay than ut3?
2) is it less or more demanding in terms of system requirements than ut3?

thanks, ut3 runs fine but I have read some negative comments about how GOW runs. one person said it runs worse than crysis?!

Nah it runs about same as UT3. The most demanding part of Gears is probably the PC exclusive single-player levels because the areas are much bigger, but still nowhere near as demanding as Crysis. Some people (including myself) experienced some stuttering problems. Setting the texture detail to medium sorted it for me, and still seemed to look just as good.

I get a stuttering movement, any idea on the solution- you say lower texture detail? Card has 512MB of RAM

512mb card here too (8800gt). Try setting it to medium. You can also try changing "OnlyStreamInTextures=FALSE" to '=TRUE' in the WarEngineUserSettings.ini config file.

I had the stuttering problem when I first installed it.

I had a think about it, loading textures while you go.
I disabled antivirus

Loaded it again

Stutter free, and been enjoying stutter free game play ever since.

On the subject of performance.
I have it set to max details, inc DX10 AA, had to force V-Sync from the Nvidia Control Panel as was getting awful tearing.

It runs silky smooth, at 1680x1050.
I never expected it to run so well, hooray for the 8800GT ;)

V1N.

EDIT: and out of interest, I did reenable anti virus, and try the game again, and it stuttered again. Disabled, and stuttering was gone.

I just got this today but keep getting a cc++ runtime error message just after you click play on the start up menu so it doesn't even load up, is there any ways around this? becoming highly frustrating now!

I've searched their forums but apparently newest patch doesn't even resolve this issue which i also installed.
