looks like a beefy cooler there. I just picked up a Powercolor 512mb 3850 for very nice price, not too concerned about the cooler though since I'll be putting it underwater.

PLEASE let me/us know how you get on with the 3850 o/cing though under water

I was looking at getting a 3850 512, then my wife told me to just get the 3870. In some ways I kinda wish i'd got the 3850, as I love a challenge, and would have been cool to find out how far I could O/C it safely

yes everyone keeps telling me I shoudl have got the 3870, but I picked up the 512mb 3850 for 115 shipped and might be able to unload my x1900 for 100....so that's a 15 quid upgrade.

Yeah, i almost went for something similar, but wife convinced me to get the 3870 in the end for just 25 more.

Mind you, thining about crossfire (when I actually get a decent motherboard) it would be a lot cheaper to have 2x 3850's than buy another 3870.
