GeCube Cards ....

Anyone have a GeCube card at all ? Any good / bad experiences ?

I've run the gamut of ATI cards - Sapphire, Powercolor, Asus even ... just wondered how these cards turn out.

Particularly, the 3870 X2 card ?

May have but no good having a bargain if the card manufacturer is rubbish and I end up RMA' it after 3 days

Seriously, never owned a GeCube and wanted to know if anyone does... anyone ?

Tbh, the rig I've almost finished building (in sig) WANTS a card of real power to finish it off as well as a case suitable for it all.

Its nearly there, and despite the slight PowerPlay issue these cards have, I think its just gotta be done.....

Just a shame AMD didnt drop the price on the X2 alongside the 3850 and 3870's

I dont think OC'ing this card is high on my priority list really, I'll be Resolution bound anyway until I get my new 24" Monitor (lowly 19" WS 1440 x 900 lol).

Will be ordering Monday, supposed to order today but works expenses didnt come through. Grrrrrrr

Well, ordered my X2 this morning and hopefully *fingers crossed* will be here tomorrow.

Bought a nice new shiny case to go along with it as well as no way is it getting into my current one (Cheap off-the-shelf EzCool oem case lol).

Well, all being well it'll turn up tomorrow - got day booked off work since I also have a Sharkoon Rebel 12 case turning for me to build this monster into. Should be fun....

Just a quick pic of the current case with the 8600 GTS I used to have (currently have a 7600 GT on loan till my X2 arrives).

Sharkoon Rebel 12 case should sort out my space problems

Well, I *could* get my X2 card in thise case, but going to wait till tomorrow and do it properly with the Rebel 12. See pics below *grin*

Yup.

Its insane I know. But there all 80GBs so easy backup to an external 500GB disk.

And they absolutely ******* fly

lol that thing almost doesnt fit into your case !

I much prefer the look of the newer X2 cards cos they look like it generates half the heat and noise

Yup, it wouldnt almost but theres no other space to put the Hard Drives atm and my new case STILL hasnt turned up (tomorrow, apparently).

So, my X2 is still in its box, grinning at me :/

Actually, my Sharkoon Rebel 12 costs less than a Antec 900.

Its a bargain, really, for what it is. Sort of like a 'no-frills' Stacker 810.
