Have the X1950XT AGP with the TEC but it overheats and crashes around 93C at stock 648/702. Put some arctic silver ceramique on the HS/GPU which brought the temps down some but it still crashes out on me in the ATI Tools and ATI Tray Tools 3D renderers. The cooling seems to be efficient as it drops quite quickly upon exit from the renderers. I have it running on an Asrock 775i65G with a C2D 6300. I have tried running it with dual PSU's so it is not a PSU issue. Hiper Type r 580 2 12v rails 20Amp and 18 Amp and a Colors 600W with 30Amp 12v rail. It seems to be a heat problem. I do not seem to get the Voltage adjustments in ATI Tray Tools or ATI Tool that others seem to get to see if lowering voltages would help out. Runing Cat 7.3, Ati tray tools 1.2.6.964 and ATITool 27 b1. The last voltage slot on ATI Tool says it is an unknown voltage. ATI Tray tools lets me set GPU volts in Overdive 3 menu but it loses it. I am stumped. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have the same card and I think you need to RMA that one. The highest temp I've had stressing the card is 72-73C at 675 Mhz Core / 800 Mhz. Memory using ATI Tray Tools and letting 3DRenderer run all night.

Agreed, TEC surely shouldn't be letting it get that hot. RMA time.

@honestjohn - How are you finding that card? It is the most powerful AGP card so it would useful to have some benchmarks and reviews for the sticky! Could you let us know the rest of your rig and run a few 3d marks (06, 05) and let us know the scores please? :) Or if you know any reviews that you read before buying please could you point them out :) Much obliged.

Already did, but it looks like it's now buried in another thread. I'll add it to your sticky and sorry, I couldn't find any official reviews on the card at all before I bought it and my rig is in my sig.

Many thanks, really appreciated. I have put a link to the exact post in my OP.

I have a socket 754 Motherboard which probably has something to do with our differing scores. You'll also gain 150-250 3DMarks going from a 256 MB card to a 512 MB card. I also have crap system ram in single channel and you are likely running in dual-channel mode. In other words we have different systems when you get right down to it.
