Hi Guys, hope you can help!

Just finished my first build and all seems to be good apart from the GPU is acting up.

Yesterday I installed COD5 which when resolution is turned up (doesn't have to be max) adopts a puple tinge. The higher the resolution, the deeper the purple gets.

I can play at a lower res which looks ok but surely the card should be able to handle 1680:1050 on this 22inch monitor...?

After I've ran the game and closed it down, all the desktop colours become affected and appear darker.

I have a feeling the card is faulty, before I return it has anyone got any suggestions...? :(

What type of cable are you using to connect the monitor? Is it a blue VGA cable or an off white DVI one? Also have you got the latest drivers installed? Have you checked the colour settings in the driver control panel too?

I had a similiar problem in the past which turned out to be a faulty VGA cable, depending on which position it was in it displayed various odd colours! Was always a nighmare having to position it perfectly each time before playing games :D

It's a blue VGA cable connected to the PC by converter which came with the card. Looking at it, it doesn't screw in properly as one of the screws won't thread.

The drivers are definitley up to date.

I hadn't thought of the cable before lol that would make things easier to put right...:D

As others have said, check the cable and the DVI-VGA adaptor. You could also try a DVI cable if your display supports that input.
