Ok i know this is a seriously old card but my friend has the chance to pick one of these up cheap for his old pc and im wondering about a few things.

His motherboard is a Sis 650 chipset, with AGP 4x afaik.

I know the 4200 came in two variants, one with AGP 4x and the other with AGP 8x

If it is the 8x model is that compatible with a 4x motherboard?
I've noticed it says just 8x on the nvidia site, wheras some cards at the time were 4x/8x.

Yes, it'll work fine on an AGP 4x motherboard, just a tad (and a very small tad) slower.
