I have bought a 2nd Hand 6800GT AGP to breathe a little more life into my son's PC.
When I installed it with the latest drivers, I noticed that it displayed a small number of flickering lines, one pixel wide and across the whole screen. They are predominently bright green or magenta.
This was running at 1280x1024 (the native res for the TFT) and 60Hz.
I noticed that if I dropped the resolution to 1024x768 the flickering lines are not present.
I did a little Google searching and this recommended going for some older drivers. I have done this and thought that it had fixed the problem.
There are no lines (yet) on 1280x1024@60Hz but when I tried increasing the rate to 75Hz I get quite a few flickering lines. The spec for this card claims it can support upto 2048x1536@85Hz.
Do you think the card is faulty or could there be some other reason. The PSU is only a 350W job, but it is a good one (Enermax) there isn't much in the PC and it had been previously been used in my machine (driving an X1800).
I'd welcome any suggestions before I go back to the seller.
Cheers,
Nigel
