Hello,

With the help of you lovely people I brought my new card and soon as i got home in it went :D however its probablly something I'm doing wrong but here goes, when I come to install the drivers it first tells me theres errors and then after it starts to install with the errors it crashes and I'm back to square one again!!

If ya can help I'd be extremely grateful :) Thanks

first of all we need a lot more info.... :p

what card did you have beforehand? ati/nvidia/onboard? have you removed all previous drivers? what's the rest of your spec? what power supply? have you connected either the pci-e/molex power connector the card needs? as much info as possible please. :)

AMD sempron 2600+
Socket A 462
board: an7 nvidia nforce 2
mem 1024
power sup: encer model:ATX 350w

New Card: nvidia 7600 sonic AGP 256mb/ 128bit/DDR3 dual link DVI, TV-out

Old card: well i have no idea someone gave it me only cost 10 quid so u can imagine how rubbish it is. But i have no box or anything.

hope thats enought info.

ooo I've now tried to dl the drivers and that isnt working either. Im pretty sure I've got rid of all the old drivers any way to check that I actually have.

As you can see I'm not very clued up at all!!

Cheers

Is it the Leadtek A7600GT TDH card mate?

If it is I'm in the same boat. I also got one from OcUK, about 3 months ago, and experience exactly the same problem, when installing the drivers it crashes. I've tried everything, got help from everywhere I can think of and it still doesn't work.

The only thing I can think of is that my Motherboard doesn't like it (ASRock K8Upgrade- 1689). The box specifies a 300W PSU minimum, mine is 400W however.

I've had it back to OcUK who say they can't find a fault, and I've also asked the local PC repair shop to test it, and he had problems getting it installed on other machines. I'm stumped. Next course of action is to take the whole PC to the repair shop to see if he can figure out the problem.

I'll keep you informed as the info may be of use.

Good news got it working :D Had my mate come over and see if he could figure out what was wrong with it. Don't use the CD to install the drivers which for some time I was trying to do and thats mostly what made it crash. However he when I d/l the drivers off the internet i d/l the 7series one but the drivers for this card are under a different heading but if ya look im sure you can find them. Good news is its running but I do need a new ps because its straining so much.
Maybe you should check the how many rails your ps has and its efficience percentage cos thats has more to do with it than the watt of the ps, so ive been told! :P

Hope you get yours fixed soon :)
