TBH I don't give a damn what the components look like (never bought a windowed case, never going to) I just care what it performs like and how much noise it makes.

I would imagine that this is the reference design and everyone will put there company sticker on the heatsink.

What are we expecting perfomance to be? I'm guessing it will be a 12 or 16-pipe card, so maybe the same speed as 6800NU/GT?

Lovely short PCB btw :) none of this over-sized rubbish on the current top-end cards.

The oversized board are for a reason not for fun, look at the dumb 6800U for apple mac.
After a while a 6800Ultra (pc) looks small, it only looks big when you first see it, you get used to it and its not as big when stipped bare for modding.

7600GT will have 12 pipes & a 7600GS with 8 pipes.
Note that GeForce Go 7600 runs at 450MHz core and 1GHz memory & its likely the above will be faster.
All use 128-bit memory controllers.

These cards are actually targeted as replacement cards for the 6600GT & will compete against the ATI X1600Pro & X1600XT cards.

i think its gonna blow x1600pro away or xt away tbh, bcoz x1600 isnt even as good as 6800gs

You do realise the 7600 will be slower than a 6800GS too.

Its a 6600GT replacement !
Not a 6800GT / GS repalcement !

If the 7600GT is 12 pipes with 450 plus core and 1GHz plus memory, I could see it competitive with the GS in some situtations, even if it does half the memory bus width. A new game, with quite a lot a bit of shaders, a medium resolution, with little or no AA, i could see it being competitive. It should be quite a bit faster than the X1600XT, though, if it has 12 texture units and something like 8 ROPs.

I would think that the 7600GS would be a little bit faster than the 6600GT due to the revisions in the G70 core.

My thoughts too.
