Geforce 7800 GTX Power

Hey guys, i bought a Geforce 7800 GTX Silent edition yesterday, and forgot to check wether or not it was retail *duh*, and ended up with just the card. Now i noticed there is a 6 - pin power adapter on the card, and when i boot up windows it says the performance has been lowered due to insufficient power.

Is there a way to convert from the standard 4 pin rectangular power to the 6-pin needed for the graphics card?

Does you PSU have a six pin power lead? If not then im sure there are adapters, im sure one came in the box with my card but i cant check until the weekend as im 160 miles north atm

You need to buy a 6-pin adapter, which can be found on this website. The only other alternative is to get a PSU with a 6-pin connector.

Or make your own , I remmember I made the same mistake when I orderd my 6800GT, I was so desperate to try my new card that I bodge'd my own up by using the ends off an old psu, did the job tho .
