only play battlefield 2.

In normal play frame rate is around 75ish...thats fine...

but every so foten..but also EVERY time i get into a heli or plane nthe frame rate sticks at 30 for several minutes before recovering back to around 70...it used to be fine....not sure what causes this..is it a faulty card...if so how would i test it?....runs 3dmark 2005 fine at around 8500 points
 
If he had v-sync on it'd constantly be stuck at that framerate... and since when was 30 a refresh rate option? :p
 
Are you running SLI..
I seem posts of some problems with sli sticking your fps to 30fps went v-sync was enabled...(it think it was a problem with some the older nvidia drivers)
 
what does vsnc do?
I went to the global driver settings, selected battlefield 2, ticked the box to get manual selection and set it to no. That disables it?

Im running battlefeild with fraps running to show framerate. The pc is x2 4800 and 2 gigs ram. Anyway after disbabling vscn it still drops to show the framrate in red as 30. Thats as soon as i jump in a heli or plane then after about 11 minute it goes back into the 70's.
