hello, i recieved my computer from overclockers on wednesday all is working well apart from one thing that appears to be wrong.
The graphics in games run smoothly for about 20 seconds at around 70 frames per second which is perfect for me, but around every 20 seconds of playing the frame rate drops considerbly to about 10-15 for around 10 seconds, then goes back up to 70 after running low for 10 seconds this causes the game to run jerky and incorrectly, it appears in a sort of pattern. The games that this happens in are all the games i play on this computer (team fortress 2, counter strike source, and runescape (a browser based game) I have tried changing the graphic settings and it still does it, i have tried running it on a different monitor and it still does it. Please can you help as the card appears faulty. And it is very frustraiting as i bought the system for gaming and i cannot do that properly. The graphics card is Nvidia geforce 8600GT 512mb and i have 4gb ram, vista home premium 32bit and AMD athlon X2 64 5600+ 2.91GHz.

Thanks, josh

Those games should be fine with that card (and system).
The card is likely seated right as the games do run (even if inconsistently).
Id probably check the temps to see if they get high when you start gaming.
If thats not it, perhaps remove drivers using driver cleaner and then reinstall and see if that fixes it. Then if still no go call OcUK and see what they say.
