Hi,
I have been using a Geforce 9800gtx 512mb card for a few years now but the other day while playing my screen just whent black. Now when I boot the pc the green light on the geforce comes on but I get a no signal from my monitor.
Ive tried re seating the card and taking memory out of the pc but still no joy.
I dont have another pc with PCIE slot to try it on.
Is the card dead? Can it be repaired?
If not what card would give my ageing pc a bit of a boost?
Is it worth upgrading the cpu? I think it can take a dual core amd 4800?

I have

ABIT AN8-V NF4 S393

AMD 64 4000+

3gb Corsair Ram with leds

480W Hiper PSU TypeR RED

Clabs SB Live 7.1 24bit Retail
1tb sata hd

1 sata dvd burner

1 ide dvd burner

NZXT Nemesis Case Black

Was think of getting a whole new setup, but as me and my late father built this years ago, kind of reluctant to consign it to the loft. Its been ok for what I play the last 5 or 6 years :)

Depends how much you want to spend. The gtx 460 can be had for a steal at the moment and is a good all round card, and from looking at your spec, you probably couldnt go any higher without a new psu.

FYI I'm not 100%, but remember reading quite a few Hiper psu owners in the past have had problems with them.
