Hi guys, i'll explain my setup first then the problems im having with it.

I currently has a gtx460 graphics, my monitor is plugged into the dsub, then my tv across the room is plugged into the mini hdmi port on the graphics card with a mini hdmi to hdmi adapter which was supplied with the graphics card.

It was working great as an extended monitor setup as i used to just drag over a film to the tv and can watch it in bed.

Then last week my desk got pulled out while i wasn't there and the mini hdmi to hdmi adapter got ripped apart, the mini hdmi end came off basically and just had loads of pins coming out the end of the adapter.

So i ordered another mini hdmi to hdmi adapter, plugged it in today and still no picture or sound.

I opened up the nvidia control panel and its still recognising my TV, is has my benQ monitor and Sony TV listed. If i unplug the hdmi cable the Sony TV disappeares so the PC is definately recogising the TV but there is no signal going to the tv as it keeps trying to auto turn off and there is nothing being displayed.

I have tried changing the resolution and the refresh rate but still no luck, so i thought i'd go get the tv from downstairs and try it, unplugged it all, brought it upstairs and my Sony tv was working with the PC, so took the other tv back downstairs, come back up and it was gone again and hasn't come back since.

I tried the cable in the xbox and that works so its definately not the cable either. And tried a different hdmi port.

The only thing i've changed since last week is the mini hdmi to hdmi adapter, i looked at the mini hdmi port on the graphics card and cant see any damage or anything.

It was a brand new gold plated adapter, looks almost identical to the last one, but could that really stop it from working?

Any suggestions please guys?

Check with the manufacturer of the 460 to see if they use a non-standard special adaptor with the port and at the same time ask them if they will send you a new one ?

Alternatively see if there is some kind soul on here who will send you theirs that they do not use ?

Thanks for the suggestion, this is basicaly the card I have, but the 1gb version but the connectors are the same

It says its a 19 pin mini HDMI Type C connection, the adapter i bought doesn't actually say its 19pin although all the others do. And the annoying thing is that i've seen it work, even though it was for about 10 seconds.

I've bought a mini hdmi to hdmi 5m cable now to completely do away with the adapter, hopefully this gets it working again
