So, performance seems fairly similar to the 6990, coming out (as expected) around the same as a pair of 570s.

Power consumption seems reasonable; around 10 - 15W above the 6990 in most cases. The noise levels are quite impressive for a card like this though... given that the card must be pushing close to 400W, the cooling system must be really quite effective.

Guess she was right on the price, a lot of cash for a component though, how much faster percentage wise is it faster than a overclocked 480gtx leaving almost £450 in your wallet? can see it may apeal to those running 3 monitors.

I was a LOT closer when I calculated that it will 599.99 quite a long time ago on this thread.

Only 15 quid off the mark looking at the standard card (the MSI one. GA one is bloatware and Asus one is OC)

I'd be interested to see how far this can be OC'd. As I see it, it will beat the 6990 easily when they are both at 6970 and 580 stock clocks. If that works out I'd imagine that the 590 will be really worthwhile as you can't possibly get 2x GTX 580s for a mere £615 quid. To boot, there is less overhead in terms of SLI slots.

It should be about 20% faster at 15% price difference. (Comparing the cheapest 6990 and cheapest 590 on OCUK)

Sounds about right tbh.
