Hi all finaly got my PC yesterday but a questions. Graphic card MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670

The PC was built at the shop all i had to do was put the cables in and switch on. When i did this i had a HDMI to HDMI lead in the graphic card to TV and nothing came on the TV. I tried sevral times with the HDMI lead and tried different ports on the TV and still no good. The HDMI lead i used for my old PC and still use it for my PS3 and works fine. I then then a DVI to HDMI and it worked with no problems and the picture came on with sound also. I think the graphic card thinks i have 2 monitor as when i put the HDMI lead in at the same time of the DVI to HDMI the screen flickers and goes to a blank desktop and if i move my mouse to the edge of the right screen it looks like it kepps going rather then stopping at the edge like it does. Any help would be gratefull

when you've got the blank desktop up, right click in the middle of the screen and click Screen Resolution, you should then see if the computer thinks you have more than one monitor and you should be able to set the HDMI one to be the primary one, which should sort you out

on mine, I do tend to have to have the TV plugged in to the wall socket and HDMI cable plugged in before I switch the computer on otherwise it behaves a bit like you are describing

when they set it up at the shop they obviously had something hooked up to the DVI port and now it's having trouble working out where to output the image to

although... if you have a DVI to HDMI cable and this works, is there any reason you can't use this going forwards? (if it ain't broke...)

don't have 2 cables connected from the PC to the same TV/monitor as that will just really confuse things

Like you say if its not broken then dont fix it. I can now remember it happend when i changed to a HDMI graphic card for 1st time on my old PC the same thing happend and i had to use the DVI to HDMI but when i formated the PC then i could use the HDMI to HDMI. So im just going to leave it as its working fine.
