A better comparison/review would be to have all the cards tested at stock as well as overclocked. Most sites tend to only OC the card being reviewed, which despite being good at showing scaling with clock speed, isn't particularly useful when comparing that to other cards. I know of only one reviewer who does that.

Sorry for quoting an image, but that's impressive - those 760's look like a great option for those looking for a GPU in that price bracket. I'm liking the result of the 780 too - looking forward to getting mine up and running

By that logic though, I suppose it is unfair comparing the Intel i5 to AMD FX-8350 at 4.6GHz, because the FX-8350 can only overclock from 4.0~4.2GHz to 4.6GHz on average (+400~600MHz), and the i5 can be clocked from low stock clock 3.4GHz all the way up to 4.6GHz on average (+1.2GHz) then?

This is not really that surprising or impressive as its only 4% faster than a ghz card at its max. A good 7950 will go past this and a ghz card will most likely get near the gtx780. When looking at the gtx760 spec i doubt it's that much better than a 660ti when they are both pushed. The 7950 is most likely still in a different league. It will be interesting to see some user benchmarks on here. I feel the benchmarks in the op are not far from the truth. If i was looking at Nvidia i would be more inclined to chase a decent price on a gtx670 than a gtx760.

my 7950 boost gets about 85 fps @ 1080 on max settings so thats pretty close benchmark tbh.
