Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Won't you be one of the first to get one of these new cards?

:D:D:D

I'm fine with the FE as will watercool it anyway. Might be getting a Strix sampled so will be good to do some comparisons, too. VREGs are a bit beefier than what we're used to on greenlit cards this time.

Just going to chime in. As far as I'm aware nobody is undervolting 1080s to get them to run at over 2000mhz (or at least to get max oc), but instead increasing the voltage do get there. This is going to quickly put up the power consumption to well over 300w. The Vega card however, is able to get much better overclocks and much more stable clocks when it's undervolted. Trust me i'v ran about a 1000 tests in the last few days trying to get there on a reference card.
Anyway if both the cards are using similar power and you actually have a vega that can go steady over 1700mhz then it will be the more efficient card because they are quite a lot faster at these speeds.

So yea max oc vs max oc vega is more power efficient. You could argue but since when did anyone on this forum care about factory settings.

I think you meant to write "More power Hungry" in your last sentence? :p

I agree with the rest of your post though. Undervolting does wonders for Vega.

Fix it for you.:)

What NVidia announce and when cards are available could be two very different things. I notice their online store has just got a load more 10XX cards back in stock.:)

Wonder is that why they are releasing the x80Ti card in the first batch and the 2060/2070 later. Going to offer a drop in prices of the 1xxx cards to clear the current stock but have the high end next gen cards for those big spenders.

It is no good I am going to do some gaming.

Watch out Bvarbarians the Romans are coming.:D

Back later.

Almost forgot, as to the pricing, it is better to wait for 5PM rather than posting wild guesses all the time.:)

Some of these guys blame AMD for the price.. (because Nvidia can't do any wrong of course)

Then they buy it anyway, and allow Nvidia to keep charging the price..

You were changing hardware more often than you changed your socks lol. You can't really blame a tech company for innovating and then capitalising on it, unfortunately. You can simply not buy the product, though.

Even Raja Kadori, now being shackle free acknowledges how far NVIDIA is pushing the envelope.

They are out of 1080 Ti stock ATM.
