Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

You may find some modern games like the vram hungry Rise of the Tomb Raider start to use your slower system RAM more so (depending on resolution/settings) compared to if you had a card with much more vram. This isn't a game breaking symptom of having less vram, but not ideal.
I had to upgrade from my SLI 780ti setup due more to there 3GB of ram was not enough then the speed of them..

I Can't remember how much vram my gtx 1080 has without looking it up :o

I am stuck on a 1050. Got FEAR working on it at 4K 60fps with GSync though. Might play that in the mean time.
I hope not been stuck on Intel graphics, waiting for these cards.
WHy waste your life away using crappy GPU's for months

Myself: I will just sell my GTX 1080 when the new cards come out and use the money I get towards buying one..

I had played all the games I wanted, so was happy to let a backlog build up. Right now I only have about 3 new games I would play once I get a new graphics card. Besides, I have my Nintendo Switch and bunch of board games I play with my partner, so not so sure about wasting life away. More to life than games anyway. The weather has been great and we have been doing a lot more outdoor activities. As long as the 1180 is out before winter or before resident evil 2 remake is out, I am perfectly fine.

Does not stop me wanting some new tech asap though. Pascal is so yesterday ;)

I sold my Vega 56 to the miners and got a nice profit, but I didn't expect the wait to be this long. :(

I am saving for this, got around £350 saved up plus whatever I get for my 980 once these land.

Doubt you will get £300 for your 980.

:D :p

Not made my mind up just yet. Will have to see how much the price leaks are. And things like custom coolers, plenty of stock on launch. Which usually can find out before launch day so I may end up selling the Ti and sticking my old 980Ti back in for a while.

Ha, I think a 1170 will do me fine this time around. I only paid £270 for my 980 so even if I get £100 I will be more than happy, it is still a decent card.

i take it there was no news? :(

Nvidia only uses the main GTC to launch big products like a new architecture. The other GTCs only get small AI focused launches, but won't get anything gaming related. The only near-term date would be computex:
