Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Quick question - when the Founder's Edition is released, is it likely there will be liquid cooling blocks for them in relatively short order? I am planning on buying one each for myself and my wife but would like to go full custom loop as soon as possible - I am not sure how long it usually takes for blocks to become available after launch.
 
Really itching to buy a new GPU and new case ( Lian-Li PC-O11 Air ) Really want a 1070Ti, but prices need to come down just a little more then I'll bite. If not I'll just keep what I have

Usually I would have scoffed preordering GPUs, but the way the market is at present I may preorder the ti immediately.
 
you will never get day 1 delivery, you will be lucky to get one within weeks / months of release date. If previous history is anything to go by.

Does that not depend on how early pre order? Last time as I recall many here got their FE’s rather quickly.

I have the same question on my mind. I am waiting for 1180/2080 for my new build. Cannot start on it until water blocks are available.

Doubt it, usually there is a longer wait between the 80 and the 80Ti. But that could be different this time around if they will be looking to release the 7nm stuff in Q4 2019/Q1 2020.
 
My 1080ti FE was delivered on the release day and the price never came down since until now where it has returned to the RRP. That card went to heaven though and I'm on another now.
 
The original linked article also says

"Although we have further information on technical details we won't publish them until we could confirm them with at least one more source. Should this information hold true though, AMDs GPU department will definitely be in for a rough ride. The only saving grace should be low street prices in that case because NVidia certainly won't be the price cutter"

Hopefully it's a big jump in performance from 1080. It sounds like the prices are going to be a dampener though
 
I doubt it will be a big jump, 1180 will be circa 1080ti maybe plus 10%
Nvidia gives nothing away when they currently dont have a lot of competition at the high end.

Ohh and it will cost a kidney at least.
