Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

I’m holding off getting a new tv for vrr over hdmi, so if these cards had it that would be great. I think for Nvidia to use it they just have to give it a new PR spin or just out market AMD.
 
Surely all the leaked reports are good for us and put more pressure on nvidia? The more leaks that get published and discussed, the fewer 10xx cards get sold as people hold off and surely that'd prompt nvidia to take action sooner? Too naive a view?

Yes, too naive. It's the other way around. Pascal is probably EOL and they wait till they sold all pascals they have. If fewer people buy pascal, then selling these will take longer and the cards will come later. Nvidia won't just lower their pascals stocks price if they have no competition. We had June rumours for a launch before mining crashed. Probably Nvidia postponed Turing 2 months to get rid of the additional stock they got of pascal.

There will be no new graphics cards in 2 months. Nvidia's CEO himself said that next graphics cards will be 2019-2020 thing.

I thought that is what you was referring to. They always deny any new products, they have old products to get rid of first, what did you expect? I would be extremely surprised if we do not get the new cards this year. Either way I picked up a 980Ti for a good price on members market to keep me going until they do come out :D

But at this point, you might as well also guess September, October, November, and December, too. And then toss in 2019 to be safe.

And if it does come out in the next few months you are going to say "well he lied". lol

People kept asking him so he ended up saying that to make them stop. Guy has loads of old Pascal tech to sell at full prices, what did you expect? Does not mean it won't be out until 2020.
 
Lol, this is the burden of being a big CEO. You can say something in a really informal back-and-forth and the whole internet is going to be hanging off it and arguing.
