In a world where "gamers" spend twice as much money on multi-coloured LEDs,
Dodge what?? We're talking about DLSS (which is not RT).Nice dodge. I'm talking about ray traced shadows, AO, etc. As demonstrated developers are known to not implement the standard rasterized methods as it's to costly for them to develop it. Which was why some let nvidia code the game for them.
So when you disable RT features it's very possible that the feature simply won't be available in game.
And if you wonder, obtusely, why they would do that. It''s called incentive.
NVidia have already sold all the FE ones they had available for preorder.
It was certainly said, rumored, of the batman game debacle. Where they had to give refunds.Dodge what?? We're talking about DLSS (which is not RT).
Do you think for 1 second that a dev is going to hand nvidia their code, and not test it for compatibility with AMD cards when they receive it back?
My last comment on the matter, as it's clear from your past posts that you're balls deep in their BS. Enjoy![]()
Won't be a lotAnd how many is that?
15.And how many is that?
15.
Not sure it matters? Could be that NV are only going to be able to provide these in a limited supply only. But the fact is, whatever the situation and however we look at it, they're sold out already. One has to assume this figure is at least in the many thousands.
I'm assuming sold out in this case means that they can't supply more in a reasonable timeframe. As they're not in stock anyway, sold out does make one laugh a bit.
Would be interesting to hear the % breakdown of 20 series OCUK orders(70/80/Ti) but unlikely to be shared.
The Turing Dilemma
But here’s the kicker, the feature is arguably also damned near too slow to enjoy on Turing. RTX ray tracing was demonstrated running on an RTX 2080 Ti in Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1080p with a ~40 FPS average. The Metro Exodus developers have stated that they plan to target 1080p 60 fps for RTX ray tracing. Similarly, a Battlefield V producer expressed his excitement about ray tracing, but cautioned that the technology still needs a long time — a generation or two of consoles — to become the standard.
So in reality, you’re not only paying a premium to simply have access to Turing’s selling point but you will also have to pay a considerable performance premium to experience it. And I can’t help but wonder if a 2080 Ti owner who has spent more than a thousand dollars on their graphics card and undoubtedly has a high-end 4K or 1440p monitor is willing to make that sacrifice.
Pay twice as much and play at 1080p and not quite 60 FPS, for the sake of ray tracing. Is it worth it? That is the Turing dilemma.
When I ordered it was 20th October. Happy with that as it gives time for reviews but also IMO the preferred actual user reviews. I'll be interested in what those getting them in September think. On the UK site the 2080ti was listed as shipping 20th Sept, went out of stock in the first few hours, then listed as 23rd, out of stock, 25th, etc. So it looks like they have a pretty good idea of how many they are shipping and when they are expecting them to be coming in.
Having the hype build up by leaking details to websites etc helped NV at first, but these days information is available so quickly, with so many youtube channels, that bad news spreads just as quickly. People spend 1200 for the prestige, not if looks like they've bought a turkey.
NVidia have already sold all the FE ones they had available for preorder.
Yes but how many was that? It’s easy to sell out if you don’t make many
Doesn't sound shady at all. There's no way they'd force developers into using routines that hinder performance on AMD cards...
Sorry I disagree
As them components & peripherals I have are only
£220 case
£130 mouse
£150 keyboard
£400 ram

You're right, they just use their power to get AMD/ATi performance patches removed because it completely tanks performance on their cards. That's different.
