Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Wow. I'm upgrading from a Maxwell Titan X aka 980 Ti so it looks like I'm getting about a tripling of speed. That'll do me nicely!

Really like the look of the cards. NV did an excellent job. I’ve always preferred FE edition, so it’s nice to see now they might have a good chance of cooling and overclocking as well as the AIB variants.

The thick back plate looks lovely, makes some other solutions look pretty cheap tbh. That video from ASUS; didn’t like any of them.

Crossing fingers Turing turns out to be a blinder, and the pre-order folks wind up happy.

So ye 2080 Is a good card at ok price if You ask me. Faster than 1080ti with new stuff and room to improve. Quick look and its like hmmm 5-15 % faster as I expected.

Would be great upgrade for VR

Its spot on what Everyone expected looking at spec 5 to 15 % depending on title. Only Salty AMD fanboys can whine i guess... Shame Vega 64 is not on graphs to compare.

Personally I'm most interested in VR performance

Just need to get few 1080ti running 4k benchmarks to see if they hit the same 1080ti values with latest Drivers.. guessing get owner of same CPU clocked the same would help .
Do have a feeling lower resolution wouldn't see as huge gains but still impressive, though still needs a peg down in price :(

LOL, its from internal nvidia benchmarks, anyone with half a clue is going to know these are absolute best case scenario. Reviews will tell the real story.

If it is FE vs FE then they are comparing a non OC 1080 Ti to a OC 2080 / 2080 Ti. How is that fair? Doesn't seem anyone really thinks into that enough.

Depends what Reviewers wil use as base platform. Id expect 8700k 5ghz and 3600cl14 setup. Not like Anyone spending 700+ on gpu would run lower spec

Regardless whats being compared i don't trust numbers from the manufacturer, as it's well known they will go out of their way to find specific areas in games that best showcases framerate and then that becomes their numbers they slap on guides like this. Reviews from sites will be more telling in the long run. :)
