Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Yeah, that one Christmas when Nvidia played the Grinch :D
Love salty people. What would You say about Me spending 2500 for exhaust that gave me 2hp upgrade on my Integra :D.
Some people like Me spend more money on stuff that's even less useful than 2080ti that he will use daily. Sometimes i dont take my car out of garage for 2 weeks cause got nowhere to drive just keep spending money on stuff that does not even get used :D
I'd get 2080ti myself but want some carbon parts for 350z both are well useless and waste of money.
After all it's just money they are useless if You dont spend them.

People are salty as it, in turn, affects pricing for them. It's a bit naive though to sit bashing people on a forum, thinking it will change anything. You can lecture and give as much advice as you want on here but the fact is, most people will make their own decision in the end. You can slap people in the face repeatedly with scientific evidence and it still goes largely ignored, we all do it.

DLSS looks worse to me, pause it at 1:59 on the FF shot.

I think DLSS is going to be a big thing with these cards. It's a slight drop off but DF really like it and the performance gains are amazing. Slight decrease in image quality for much better performance.

To be honest I didn't notice a drop in image quality, though I was watching it on quite a small screen (Galaxy S9+)

But in motion you don't often notice things that you might see when they zoom in 300% and slow it down to 50%....

It one of those where you need to be looking for it to see it. In general it looked good and didn't exhibit any of the artifacts you see with chequerboarding on console.

Well that's a little disappointing.

I received my delivery around 40 minutes ago and ripped open the box as fast as I could...

Only to see a 2080 sitting there when I had ordered (and been charged for) a 2080 Ti.

*Sigh*

A pickup is now arranged for tomorrow so I guess it will be next Tuesday at the absolute earliest for me now.

Oh my god, what a bummer. It's so disappointing when something like this happens.

Since they messed up they should send a 2080ti out with the person who is collecting the 2080 tomorrow.

Indeed... I asked if they could but they said that they wouldn't be able to send another card out until the 2080 was returned. :(

I remember when AMD were doing this in their drivers, lowering image quality, there was absolute hell on, now we have Nvidia doing it, and what a surprise, its the dogs danglies, you've got to ******* laugh, you just couldn't make it up! :D

Come on that's being disingenuous. DLSS isn't forced on or default, iirc with AMD they made one of the default options in the driver settings have lower IQ at the time to gain performance.

It remains to be seen whether DLSS will improve like they say it will due to it being built on machine learning, everything says it should but you just don't know with nVidia.

You are doing business with them for 20 years, you would think they would show a little bit of trust.

Perhaps I could have pushed it, kicked up a bit of a fuss and ended up with the card tomorrow.

But in all fairness, I should really be working today and tomorrow, and I was originally supposed to be doing fiancee stuff all weekend with the missus, so it's probably for the best anyway.

At least that's how i'm consoling myself. :p

Still pretty miffed though :mad::mad::mad:
