Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

I was expecting Turing to beat Volta easy but this is not the case, it could be due to NVidia originally intending to produce it on 10nm instead of the 12nm it is now on.

You no they will kaap wouldn’t be surprised if they do it on 7nm .

Have you ever considered that a comment might simply be a joke. I wasn't being salty. I haven't been running today.

The Grinch is green... like Nvidia.

And he stole Christmas, if you believe the story, leaving people disappointed.

A bit like Nvidia have left some people disappointed on here it seems. :p
aaaa fair enough. I'm having a laugh at disappointed by numbers peiople since they been out and about for few weeks. If numbers would have been epic Jensen would have fps graphs on the presentation something like.

1080ti does 40fps@4k ultra in whatever game
2080 does 50fps@4k ultra in whatever game costs 150 quid more than 1080ti AND ITS GOT RAYTRACINGZZZZZ
2080ti does 80fps@4k ultra in whatever game costs 1100 but it rippes a new one even in Titan V !!!!

and people would be
9e9.gif

But when you got card that costs 100 quid more than 1080ti and is SAME SPEED and faster one costs 1100... **** even Steve Jobs would have problem to sell that on a stage LOL

I'd certainly be interested in benchmarks from both cards clocked, hopefully we'll get something soon :)

edit - I get 14807 gfx score in Timespy Kaap, your Titan V gets 14806!! Close then...

You should be able to beat the Titan V with the Standard Edition Timespy with a bit of tweaking.:)

I would be interested to see how the 2080 Ti goes on the Extreme Timespy Edition as the figure NVidia put out for it was quite low compared to the Titan V.

I remember when AMD were doing this in their drivers, lowering image quality, there was absolute hell on, now we have Nvidia doing it, and what a surprise, its the dogs danglies, you've got to ******* laugh, you just couldn't make it up! :D

Really, AMD have never done 'this' in their drivers.

Did you even watch the DigtalFoundry Video 'you' just posted on the last page, all three of them were saying it looks better with DLSS and it gave some hefty frame rate improvements . whether it will in a proper game and not just a set piece demo still remains to be seen, until then let us reserve judgement.

6850K bud. I only run it at 4.1ghz and never bottlenecks at my res of 3440x1440
Whats the max u can get it going at ?? Flogged my 5820k cause it hit wall at 4450 and could not even boot up at 125bclk so was stuck with max memory speed at 2666.
My mate uses it with 1080 nowadays super happy with numbers.

4.6 or 4.7 (can't remember) but it isn't a great chip and needed volts galore to run at that. I just stick to 4.1 for temps and enough speed.

I'm finding it hard to find somewhere that doesn't have any 2080's in stock...

They aren't flying off the shelves, that's for sure. I guess everyone is waiting on the Ti's :D

Today Nvidia sent me an email with a Buy Now button for the 2080. They have my email address because I bought a 1080 Ti from them. Don’t know what their marketing department is smoking.
