Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Given current exchange rate the 2070 FE looks £599..... My GTX1080 was cheaper, and the GTX1080Ti Xtreme cost me £650 last year.....
Nvidia listing it at £570 for founders. Would seem incredibly silly buying it when you can grab a 1080 for £400 though lol.

just watched a shadow of the Tombraider benchmark on Youtube 2 1080 ti's in SLI 20 fps faster than a 2080 ti at 4k might just buy another 1080 ti better than spending 1400 Quid.
The problem is support for SLI and what games get it. I was a long time SLI user but sadly it was getting less and less supported and really not worth it in the end.

I have spent silly money on systems over the years always wanting the newest and best hardware, the best monitors and peripherals even though I have an almost new Zotac 1080Ti AMP Extreme Spectre RGB sitting in my current rig I was ready to buy a 2080Ti but asking for £1400-£1500 for a high end AIB 2080Ti isn't a justified price creep it's an unacceptable money grab trying to see how far they can push High Spec enthusiasts. I simply will not hand over that kind of money for product which has an unexplained and unjustified 70%+ price increase regardless of how much disposable income I have available. While the 2080Ti looks an impressive card to me buying one at these prices is moronic.

What percentage of PC gamer's would you say are enthusiasts not much once they have their 2080 ti's who else is willing to spend that amount they will come a time when the price will drop because they wont be able to shift stock.

That's not what DLSS is.
DLSS is an upscaling method just like checkerboarding in PS4 Pro.

Its not just like checkerbording though. The technology is totally different.

Moreover, DLSS has 2 modes, either an upscaling method with improved AA, or simply an improved AA

Why are people saying £1400 for a 2080ti? If you’re patient you can get one for £1099 so it’s cheaper than 2 1080ti’s if you bought new and with similar minimum FPS you won’t notice a difference, and you’d be relying on SLI scaling working well in every game.

Also, you can always add another 2080 ti later when you get a decent 144hz 4k screen

Funny how the 1080ti prices are suddenly climbing, the Asus strix is currently at £930...An attempt to make the 2080 look more reasonably priced?

Well they climbing aside from the offer gibbo just put up.

A chip costs the same unless pre binned by nvidia so I am curious who is cashing in on the £300 asus strix tax, the vendor or the retailer ;)

Or does that asus strix cooler legit cost £300 extra to manufacturer.

Yes its a pretty insane one this, but more of a favour because as I said in other thread, its a card I helped Gigabyte to design, so they kind of owe me a favour.
Prices are climbing now simply because 1080Ti is becoming like Intel CPU, demand far outweighs supply and miners are also trying to gobble up the 1080Ti as it performs better than RTX for mining.
