Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Another site had a few of the windforce TI cards in for their pre-order price, so it seems not every card is getting gouged.

I have to be honest the new Gigabyte AORUS 2080TI extreme Looks lovely and the most I would pay for 2080TI would be £1000( I don't mean those basic models) so i cant buy one:( we really need a crying emoji here.

I just dont see Nvidia drop the price on these cards without competition.

If nvidia released a RTX Titan, i wonder how much they will charge for it? £2000

supply and demand strikes again, no one wants the 2080s it seems to they will drop in price, also the fact a 1080ti isnt that far behind for £100+ less in price is probably forcing a few to rethink pricing. and with the 2080ti's selling better it was bound to happen cant blame stores for doing it just crappy for anyone wanting to buy now.

I see a palit gamingpro oc ti in stock somewhere £200 less than here. Seems to be a lot of these cards floating around but none of the rest!

Yup, apparently ocuk's stock is worth £200 more because...."reasons".

Does seem to be a few of the palits knocking around, yet they don't seem to sell that well because they're not seen as a premium brand.

I'd say less supply and demand and more retailer gouging. Near 1800 for an evga card says it all. :(

I have a Palit Gamerock 1080Ti and its a BEAST of a card, I think palit's problem is the colour of the dam thing and really bad LED implementation. They really need to make more effort and the card is whisper quite otherwise its amazing card.

Oh i forgot and they only Give you 2 year warranty. Who on earth wants 2 year warranty on a £1200 2080ti?

I really think all manufacturers of electronic products should be forced to give 3 year warranty, does not matter if its Tv, microwave, ect ect.

It's the 2 year warranty, very offputting, especially at these prices.

Asus GeForce RTX 2080 ROG STRIX 8GB Graphics Card £999.99. **** Asus.
GEFORCE RTX 2080TI ROG STRIX OC 11264MB GDDR6 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD £1499.99

That's two 1080Ti cards and a CPU!

Just watched the OC3D review. Good to see TTL refusing to give an award and calling Asus out on this pricing.

They've genuinely lost the plot, utterly absurd. Anyone buying an Asus card categorically needs their head examined... all talk of 20xx pricing aside, to pay the Asus premium for nothing is just beyond dumb.

If you seen my post earlier another site had an evga card in for almost £1800 and those also sold. £1500 for the asus card is the pre-order price, i fully expect that to go up once they're in stock as every other card so far has.

yeah but he still went easy, he didnt bring 1080ti pricing into it, which would have made it even worse.

Asus strix 2080 £999.95, vs a current gibbo special offer of a 1080 ti under £580.

There is no way asus cooling is costing an extra £200 to manufacturer, the asus tax has just gone completely out of control.

Prices will level off to where they should be once shops have them sitting on the shelves.

Until then, they’ll price them as high as they can on limited stock. There’s always someone willing to pay a premium to get it sooner unfortunately.

It'll take a while for stock to filter in with decent numbers from the looks of it. A site i was on earlier when you put stuff into your basket for pre-order it told you how many they were expecting and how soon, it was mostly numbers of 3-4 cards from anything from 5 days to 2 weeks away.

It’s certainly a valid question he raises as to why they didn’t show a video of that example, instead choosing a static image. For a card that can supposedly do real time ray tracing, showing a static image demonstrates nothing. I can’t see why they couldn’t have... the card would have been capable, even if it was only 30 FPS @ 1080p ha! I don’t see any conspiracy here though... I just chalk it up to another misstep in this shambles of a launch. This is typical of the sloppy lazyness that occurs when you have no competition.
