Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

I never said I did, but do you seriously think Nvidia would release a 1070 and 1080 tier part for £1000 and £1500?
A 1180ti could easily be £1k each. And an 1170 could also easily be £500. They won't double prices but even without nvidia and their pricing memory prices are still high. 1180 could be £600+RRP

There is a rumour going around its another pascal refresh, presumably bs though.
Apparently they do have thousands and thousands of pascal chips in stock so I wouldn't put it past them.

This is getting a bit silly now. They could charge £9999 for a 1170 if they wanted also, does not mean that they will...

There is nearly zero chance they would charge £1000 for a 1170 and £1500 for a 1180 guys. Hence that article is some clickbait fake news for the gullible.

I agree the 1180 is likely to be between £600 to £700.

1170 £500
1180 £700
1180ti £900

That about what I reckon, give or take £50.

I think they know a £1000 1280 isn’t going to sell. And yes they can charge what they way, but only if people buy them.

The thing that leads me to believe the price of the 1180 will be so high is that nVidia is sitting on a massive stockpile of GPUs after the collapse of the cryptocurrency market. Enthusiasts will stomach pretty much any price nVidia charges for the latest and greatest, whilst other buyers will be pushed towards buying 10-series cards after seeing those high prices. I think the 1180 may be as high as £900 or £1,000.

If the benchmarks are decent and it's priced between £600-700 then I'll bite. Otherwise I may look at picking up a second 1080, even though I generally try to avoid SLI these days.

Simon has a special blend judging by his posts lately. Lol :p

Not going to be a Pascal refresh. Pascal has already taken a back seat to Volta which is definitely not a refresh. Any new 12nm process is not going to go back to Pascal for a refresh when there is already a newer architecture available.

Even if NVidia do nothing but remove the DP, Tensor cores and HBM2 from Volta and launch it for gaming the Volta chips are going to be reasonably small with good yields.
