Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Anyone who willingly pays the Asus tax deserves to get a brick in a box and no refund :D. Their pricing is just insane beyond belief and shouldn't be at all encouraged.

Seems there's some issues with the FE card and the geforce logo lighting, for some people its working fine, others it worked once then died, and a few people its showing up as red.

Probably due to the lack of nVidia RGB controller/driver? All you need is a 3rd party application or a controller on the motherboard to assume it's role and mess about with it, which happens.

Disable all the RGB I say.

Showing red apparently could be an incorrectly terminated RGB ribbon (Not user serviceable), and there seem to be quite a few reports of the LED controller failing. I wonder how much heat it can cope with? It does bring into question the quality control of the assembly line. Still not ASUS bad :D
It would be nice if the colour was controllable rather than fixed, especially if it could be linked to GPU temp sensors.

You can't even fix it yourself as it's under that centre section thats glued down, so rma if it annoys anyone.
