Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Caseking has the strix in stock, they've already price hiked it from 1450ish euro to near 1540 euro. In 1 refresh of the page i seen the price magically jump.

2080 Ti is 35% faster than 1080 Ti

2080 Ti is only a tiny fraction slower than £2800 Titan V @2160p

20XX series are great cards and when RTX and DLSS arrive it will be the cherry on top.

Having said that I used to work for a well known cake manufacturer and could not be bothered about cherries.:D

Guru3d crappy Vega 64 reference shows that performance!!!!!

Holly crap, the LC/Red Devil/Nitro could be beating the RTX2080 out of the box. Even a reference if someone cuts -50mv from P6 & P7 power states. (haven't mentioned overclock).

@TonyTurbo78 did you see this?

@Panos no to be honest. I'm hitting around 100 1440p and ultra. Not sure what the accurate lows and highs are but pretty much every time I look up at my OSD, it displaying in the high 90s and at times over 100. But that is on DX11, DX12 is rubbish again, always the way with battlefield games.

Techpowerup tested Battlefield V on 8700K with much better performance than Guru3D's 5960X.

DICE confirmed upcoming Battlefield V patch will enabled RTX support, the patch will release closer to Battlefield V Deluxe Edition release on 15 November.

This is quite an interesting snipet from the above extremetech article.

A new note from DICE states:

DirectX Raytracing (DXR) – DXR enables realistic real-time ray traced reflections in Battlefield V for players with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards including the GeForce RTX 2070, 2080, and 2080 Ti. An early release of DXR will be available in an upcoming patch, near the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition release window. EA, DICE, and NVIDIA will also continue to optimize this implementation and deliver regular updates after its release.

This isn’t necessarily a problem, since the Windows October update also required for RTX support hasn’t been released yet, either, but the fact that RTX owners are waiting for two different companies to drop necessary product updates in order to use features they paid premiums to use isn’t a great look for the GPU family.

So although it is very annoying that NVidia haven't been able to give us working RTX features, it isn't actually their fault in this case. Doesn't make it any less annoying though, for those who have paid the prices that NVidia are asking.

Tomb Raider is out not 2 months, everyone who bought it has finished it.

I pre-ordered it, and I think I pre-installed it. I haven't played it yet.
I'm looking forward to it, but I have RDR2 (on PS4 Pro) and will have Hitman 2, F76 and AC Odyssey (and Dragon Age Inquisition to finish first (lovely at solid 60fps 4k total max settings) to occupy me for some time. I will wait until RTX has been implemented, I may end up playing without it anyway, but it will be nice to try.

Update on the three of the heavily promoted RTX & DLSS games :

FFXV for PC was cancelled.
Tomb Raider is out not 2 months, everyone who bought it has finished it, no date for DLSS or RTX.
BF5 , current subscribers to Origin got to play the game yesterday, doesn't support DLSS or RTX. DX11 performance is way better than DX12 which is needed for DXR. Unknown date when DXR support will come.
I have not even completed the first tomb raider game .

I havn't finished Tombi yet, only done 40% :D
Taking your time waiting for RTX to be enabled? lol :p

I finished Rise a couple of days back...but nowhere near 100% completion.

Yet to order shadow ...(to tight) :p

Whatever happened to you easy? A couple of years back you used to be all smug and say money was not an issue and you would buy expensive bottles of wine etc :p

I also have not purchased it btw. Don't see the point in paying full price when I have other games yet to complete. By the time I do, I will be able to grab it for a tenner with all the bugs fixed :)
