Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

However the 11 series will push the 10 series cards down in price, would be a good time to pick up a 1080ti around the £250-£350.

ROFL :D... keep dreaming, that's certainly not going to happen... unless you mean second hand prices, but even £350 might be a stretch there unless it's one of the cheaper cards that someone's thrashed with mining or just wants rid quick.

if the geforce 1180 is 20% faster than a 1080ti AND has the new vr connector i will be happy as a pig in muck.

I think 20% is probably going to be the absolute max, if we're lucky... I can't see it being more as they'll hold something back for the 1180Ti... but if it is, then we can expect to see a crazy price tag along with it!

I'm sure they could deliver much more than that.
We'll get the usual 20% over 1080Ti (It's always the same) because that's all they need to sell new cards.

To be fair it's not like we have super demanding games out there.

Why I am the only one who foresees the moaning in this forum when the pricing is announced of the 11xx series?
Some are dreaming of +20% perf over the 1080Ti forgetting the rumours that they will be prices accordingly, 20% higher than the 1080Ti also.

This is the perfect event to launch a new GPU, I believe it was August the 660 Ti was launched I can't remember any other gpu's that have launched around the August time frame?

There are quite a few new games I'm looking forward to playing I don't think my 980 Ti could keep up with at 4k constant 60 fps hmm might just treat myself as my pay day is 5 days later :D

Yes Geforce GTX 660 Ti was launched in August, I searched techpowerup database to find all GPUs launched in August list below:

Really hope not. 20% higher price than rrp 1080ti would be nuts and they would get a lot of stick for that.

It should be no more than $100 more than the 1080 release price. I would say $50 more would be acceptable due to memory prices being higher and lack of competition.

I am more interested in the 1170 and want to see how they price that. That tier of performance is slowly creeping up in price which is concerning.

Ignore Panos, none of his posts make any sense. As you say, the 1180 is liekly to be about $50 more than the 1080 for an 8Gb model. a 16GB 1180 might be a more

Oh great. Getting the same performance as the 4.5 year old 980 Ti for £250?! No thanks. The 1160 needs to hit the £200 mark for cheaper models, but it won't. More likely £250 for the very cheapest, most basic model. Or they could hike prices yet again, so £300 for 1160s this gen.

How much did that 4.5 year old 980 Ti cost when new, about 3x the £250 figure I guessed at for the GTX 1160.

If we start seeing £1000 gpus more regular, pc gaming is doomed. Most will just leave pc gaming all together to go play 60fps on a 4k OLED or something with hdr and Freesync. You all need to be mentally stronger with your Nvidia gpus, disgusting pricing.

They can charge a million for the 1180ti, as long as there are cards in a sane price bracket then we will be ok, peeps have to switch from name chasing to sticking to the price bracket.

I paid three Bitcoin for my 980ti (back when OCUK accepted BTC) so it was technically free :D
Why, did someone give you those bitcoins for free? If you mined them, then not free. Technically ;)

Another way of looking at it is it cost you £18429.57 had you not used bitcoin to buy it and sold the bitcoins today :p

I GOT THE 980TI FOR FREE! STOP BEING JEALOUS OF MY FREE 980TI AND MY SUPERIOR FINANCIAL DECISION MAKING! :D
Hahaha. I see... :D:p

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense to me.

The 1180 with 16gb could possibly be the 1180+ that has been mentioned in rumours.
