Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Lads Lads! Why all this speculation over price? Who gives a rats if its 50 or 100 more. You're going to buy it regardless and keep it for years! You know it to be true!

If the 1180 comes in at £650 what do people think the prices of the 1080 or 1080Ti will drop to?

I think £650 is a good shout (i would be chuffed with £599)

I would not be surprised if there is not that much inventory of the 1080ti knocking about so possibly a cut to £550 with a game? then the vanilla 1080 to..... perhaps £400, or £350 if we are really lucky? (but i think £400 with a game)

then when the 1180ti launches i would not be surprised to see a £50 drop in rrp of the 1180 with an RRP of £700 - £750 for the 1180ti)

I suspect OC have already paid for their initial stock, so cant see £/$ value being an issue. Might be that those who buy on day one get a 'bargain' and later stock will be priced higher
Maybe they have, maybe they have not. We will see.

If Nvidia do the FE at a good price on launch, I may buy it directly from them this time myself. What is their customer service like if anyone knows?

It’s a little disheartening to see such high figures for the 1180, I’m was expecting the 1180 to cost roughly £500..

That’s what I put away for a new card, I’ll be interested in the performance of the 1170 compared to the 1080/vega64

Indeed, got a max of £500 for a card, and I will have to check what the performance is like as if the 1180 is only a bit faster than a 1080ti and costs upwards of £650 I might just get one of those for under £400 second hand

Yup, even if they started at 1k for the 1170, they'd be bloody flying oot, the Owners Threads on here would be pages and pages deep!, as its Nvidia, and thats all that matters, we'll all pay any price for them, it just does not matter.

Come on Nvidia, just get the buggers out! :D

It was never going to be £500 on release. The 1080 only dropped to £499 when the 1080Ti was due for release.

It will be something similar with the 1180, it will drop in price when the next x80Ti is released. If you want to wait until then. Else you are going to have to go for the 1170.

Yea average price for a 1080 on here was around £600. The cheapest was £520 which was the no frills cooler with the founders being around £620. I can't see the 1180 being any cheaper.

What's the must play games coming out that are gonna push these cards, I know BFG displays but games wise, if the price isn't on point then a PS4 pro and monitor with RDR2 will be better

it depends what you are going from and too... if you have a 1080ti already nothing.

but if the new cards have VRlink then gamers who are on maxwell cards may well be tempted to get better vr experiences (which is where i am at). I also just got a 4K tv..... what was a great 1080p gpu is not a good 4k one!
