GeForce Offer MAFIA 2 Download Code Question

Hi chaps,

I've got a MAFIA 2 download code on the way. Unfortunately my internet connection is running at only 5-15 Kbp/s since the neighbours got broadband :mad:

. Which at that speed will take me the best part of a week to download it.

My question is that if I borrow a hard copy of Mafia 2 from a work colleague, would I be able to use that for the install along with a download code to activate it? (im guessing it's a steam download?) Or am I stuck with a weeks worth of downloading to get the game?

You could use your friends media, yes. Or you can get him to give you a copy of the cache files after you have added the key into your Steam account.

Trust me, i'm so tempted...they have just had the phone line installed which involved about 400metres of new cable being layed by BT - we live right out in the sticks. (previously didnt have a phone - it is a holiday house).

I really don't get on with them, if i did this would be a sensible idea!

The annoying thing i've only had broadband for about a year now which would run at about 80Kb/s up to 130Kb/s just fine. When my neighbour gets his installed his runs at the speed i used to get while ive been shoved down to nearly 56k speed! :mad:

Get a netgear DG834G router using broadcom chipset if you don't already (some ISPs use rebranded versions of this too) - makes far better use of long lines than just about any other router.
