Im pondering getting this, how is it and whats it like with overclocking.

Using it with the system in the sig..

Its pretty good mate, not sure about XP overclocking, but with A64 you can use a divider to keep the memory below 200Mhz.

You won't get massive clocks out of it, but keep it near 200Mhz using a divider with 2.5-3-3-7 timings and you'll have excellent performance.

Divider + Athlon XP = Sad face.

AXPs don't like dividers but to get your chip to 2.2Ghz, you'll need an FSB of 200 which is what the RAM is supposed to run at.

Ooops I missed that, yeah unfortunately you don't really want to use a divider on a Socket A system, its a bit of a killer. You could just clock as best you can in 1:1 and keep the RAM for some A64 action later

Sorry i forgot to mention i wouldn't be overclocking it with my XP2500, it would just be left at that or even underclocked at PC2700 as my mobo doesn't have 200FSB capabilities.

I would only be overclocking once i get my X2 64 bit chip

Basically i'm getting it now to see improvement in BF2 a lil bit and i will use it in a later build.

2.5,3,3,6 timings, and 1T command rate in dual channel mode is what im running mine at with stock speed in fsb.

is what I have, I've only heard good things about the geil value sets though.

AMD 64 3500+ (stock speed)
Asus A8V Deluxe rev 2 (.14 bios or somit)
gf 6800 256mb gddr3 latest drivers (asus v9999 GE)
audigy 2 zs
Win xp pro + sp2 (sp2 installed along with xp)
