I am probably going to get the GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5, and I was wondering which would be more beneficial:

Having those 2 sticks including my current stick (Kingston KVR400 512 PC3200 CAS2.5) running together on the mb.

or just having the 2 Geil 512s running dual channel.

I've been told having the 3x512 will give me better performance. My mobo is ASUS P4P800VM

Try it both ways and run Sisoftware sandra and bench the mem to see what gives highest bandwidth.

Good idea, thanks!

I have another question though. Since I only really want 1GB, would it be safe to get the GeIL 512MB PC3200 Value CAS2.5 400mhz and have it running in dual channel with my Kingston (KVR400X64C25/512) PC3200 CAS2.5 400mhz?
