hey there, i recently decided to build a new computer after my old pc's graphics card went kaaput. anyways i bought the follow - :
Q6600
4GB Geil ddr2 pc 6400 - ultra low latency
vista home premium 64bit
nvidia 8800GTS
Abit IP35
corsair 520W PSU
well firstly ive had quite a lot of problems with this build. once built - first problem couldnt get vista to install, getting the error - CPU is unworkable or has been changed. please check softmenu in Bios. well everything was set to default still problem came up. phoned overclockers got an RMA on the motherboard send back tested faulty got a new one sent to me.
Next problem now i got new motherboard i thought great can get my gaming pc up and running. left 1GB of ram in first module bay, installed vista okay everything was going great untill i tried to add more RAM. Tested each of the modules in every slot and 1 of them was faulty as soon as i turned on the PC it crashed and constantly restarted not even getting to boot up vista by the way the other 3 sticks worked okay.
so i got an RMA on the ram sent it back again failed there test got new RAM.
super, now quick update the pc for the last 2weeks has been running off 2GB of RAM, got the replacement RAM yesterday and when i put it in the PC wont run at all wont boot to vista screen i tested the new RAM in each memory slot and it doesnt work. I took the RAM round to a mates house and tested in his PC and it works properly. didnt crash his pc ran fine, tried my PC again but no luck. im stumped now on what to do. it still doesnt want to run on my PC even though its the same as the other two sticks of RAM. im clueless ive tried resetting the bios to default and optimum settings still nothing.
sorry its a long read but theres loads to say. if anyone has any ideas what could be the problem?? please feel free.
