Hi ive got 1024MB (2 x 512) of this stuff and its meant to be BH5. Im sure it is as it will run at cas 1.5-2-2-5 at 200mhz like its rated for.

Its meant to run at DDR600 2.5-4-4-7 though and I cant get anywhere near this ....even 250mhz wont run at those timings, but my mobo can only support 2.7v vdimm....do I need to get a new board that allows high memory voltages to be set such as a dfi ultra d so I can shove 3.3v through them and see what happens? or is this RAM faulty.

Thanks for any help.

BH5s respond very well to voltage so it may well be the lack of voltage options that's holding your RAM back. What's the rating for your RAM and what is the suggested voltage.

PC3200 1.5-2-2-5 which it runs...even runs upto 220mhz on those timings but it wont run the latter DDR600 with those timings on 2.8v, maybe it needs 2.95v to do that?

Have you got the TCCD version or the BH5 version ? The TCCD version don't like voltage at all !!!!! be warned.

BH5 will take 3.0+volts.

Your quoting the Tccd version as above,

If you've got the Plastic though case they came in does it have and "S" or a "W" on it ?

S means Bh5 ram
W means Samsung TCCD
I think !

I used to be able to run my TCCD Geil Ram at 250 2,2,2,5 at 2.8v

If your mobo ain't up to supplying the V's your ram is wasted ! Get a DFI RDX200 I did and its mint ! I wish I'd have keeped the One's and hunted another 1gb kit down.

So is it TCCD or BH5

If it's TCCD then it shouldn't require too much voltage at all, my OCZ Plat. Rev2 stuff did DDR600 3-4-4-8 with 2.85V.

Sounds like it needs 2.95 for DDR600 ratings.

hi, its got a W on the packaging so I guess its tccd....must be faulty :(

I was sold it off another forum member as being BH5 Winbond stuff.

would it be worth trying on another socket 939 mobo just to make sure though, the only other one I have supplies 2.8v max but it could be the mobo not liking the RAM or something.

ok I put it in my main rig (in sig) and at 229MHz CAS 2.5-3-3-5 it reboots all the time and doesnt even run super pi..this stuff is seriously faulty unless its miss packaged and is actualyl BH5 and needs more vdimm to do any kind of speed. :(

I just read this on a website that claims what I have is BH5 so the ones with W are BH5 and the ones with S are TCCD Samsung.

'GeIL ONE W BH5 PC3200 400MHz DDR'

Does anyone know for sure if this is correct Im searching google atm trying to find more info.

cheers,

Yep Geil ONE W = Winbond and Geil ONE S = Samsung TCCD. You'll need much more than 2.7v to take the winbond to it's limits.

Yup... extra voltage needed.

I'd try to get a DFI SLi-DR or something similar. Best board i ever had. Voltage options were the most aggressive i've seen. Easiest way to get the best out of your 'kick booty' RAM! ;)

thanks for the help here - much aprechiated.

I will be getting a dfi asap.
