Geil pc5300

I know you say £60 is your limit, but is there no way you can stretch to £70 for this? That stuff is basically rebranded PC8500, it clocks crazily.

That over the Giel PC5300 anyday. Just clocked it (Ballistix PC5300) to 1000MHz today at 5-5-5-15 stock VDIMM.

Yer could I recon I could just about stretch, its just that I'm trying to build the system as cheaply as possible, while still remaining a good overclocker, so you think that this isn't worth it, I am not buying yet, it will probably be in a few weeks, after my exams :)

Before you buy anything based on Micron D9 RAM, just be aware that lots of it is failing at the moment. That said - it is clearly the best overclocking RAM available at the moment, and Crucial directly are by far the best of the memory suppliers for UK customers in terms of RMA/Warranty handling. They will turn your product around in 2 days + shipping times whereas GeIL, OCZ, TEAM, CellShock and G.Skill all require you to send it off to the Europe, the US or the Far East. Corsair require you to send it to the US, but they also seem to specialize in losing your RAM when it arrives with them, so that adds to the excitement a bit.

If you hunt about it can be had for about £67 incl. delivery after the Google discount is taken into account. As Crucial handle all the warranty claims directly, after-sales customer service isn't really an issue, so it all comes down to cost.

Thanks for the advice guys, as I say I'm not buying for a few weeks yet so I will see how the prices develop. :)
