I've been trying to get this to run at 800 mhz but every time I change the settings in my BIOS (F3) the pc fails to boot. Turn it all back to auto and it works fine. Just had a look at cpu-z and it says my memory is pc 5300. Is this program accurate enough and have I been sent the wrong memory? Is there some other software that will tell me what my memory is?

Mine is running 850MHz 4-4-4-12 at 2.1V and it works great. The SPD is set to PC5300 as a kind of fail safe setting, so that's what it's going to when you set it to auto. There's a note about it in the box although it's easy to miss.

If yours won't run at 800MHz 4-4-4-12 I'd probably RMA it as that's the spec it's supposed to be.

Thought I'd give it another go before doing an RMA and it seems to have worked! I changed the settings in the BIOS and the voltage and it's booted up and working ok. However, when I look at cpu-z it still shows the SPD as 5300. Is cpu-z wrong?

As for the note, where abouts is it? Can't seem to find one.

i think mines is showing as 5300 in cpuz also, i think this is because it needs to be like that to let you overclock so high at 1:1, but thats just a guess.

mine is running at around 870Mhz at 4-4-4-12

Yeah, cpu-z also tells me it is at 3-4-4-12 when it is actually at 4-4-4-12. What BIOS are you running? My mate seems convinced that it is a bug in F2 and when I upgrade to F3 it'll sort itself out.

I'm on the F3 BIOS. It all seems ok at the moment so fingers crossed.

Hi all:

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I'm also very interested in the DS4.

Does anyone know if the OCZ DDR2 PC5400 will work on this mobo?? Or is it even any good at all??

OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC5400 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC Series EL-DDR2 (OCZ26671024ELGEGXT-K) (MY-063-OC)

Stock volt @ 1.9V

Because I've heard a lot of people having problems with OCZ memories on P965 chipset because of the voltage.

Thanks guys :)

*****EDIT*****

Hi just read the sticky in motherboard section and it does support the ram. :)
