Hello everyone,

I have just installed 1gb (2x512mb) of Geil DDR2 dual channel ram. I have set the voltage to 2.1, as it said on the memory. What should i do with the timings and the frequency. My motherboard specs etc are in the sig.

Thanks in advance.

Is it the CAS4 stuff?

If so, it should be 4-4-4-12 at 800Mhz. That's its stock settings.

Hopefully yeah.

Mine's running at 900Mhz at 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v.

It seems to be a bit hit and miss tho. Some ppl are getting near 1000Mhz, some are getting under 900Mhz.

Cob how can I find out what voltage my GeIL is running @?

Got some sshots from CPU-Z:

Can't seem to find it!

Speedfan sometimes lists it as Vcore2 or summit depending on your motherboard.

That or Everest.

And change those timings to 4-4-4-12 :)

You could use speedfan to tell you it would be vcore2 bottom left. :)

Oh well beat me 2 it. :)

Mine doesn't like any more than 850mhz speed on the 4,4,4,12 timings. I can slacken the timings and whack it up, been to 900 before, but 820mhz is all I need so it doesn't matter. :)

ok got a problem here, i have set the timings to 4-4-4-12-20@800mhz and the windows freezes after a couple of minutes. Ran orthos and 3dmarko5 and they aslo froze after 1 minute of operation. what should i do?

Those timings you listed are stock aren't they? Or they should be. What are mine currently running at?

Sorry but you have to explain cause im know nothing about voltages, timings and things on memory! :p

Download Memtest and test the RAM for a few hours. If you get any errors RMA it. IT should run fine at 2.1V, 4-4-4-12@800MHz

You are running the overclock in unlinked mode aren't you?

My Geil error using 2.1v with Orthos, Memtest e.t.c but are fine when using 2.0v so try that.
