Not sure but I think this is a known issue. Cant get my Geil PC6400C4 Low latency to work at 4-4-4-12 even at stock :(

The best it will do is 5-5-5-15 or even 5-5-5-18.

Does this mean its RMA time? If so can I chuck in a few extra quid and upgrade to say:

Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB)

Or

Team Xtreem 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (TXDD2048M800HC4DC)

Or do I have to RMA, get a refund then order the new?

I hoping OCUK will allow me to chuck in a few quid extra and swap for either one of the above, looking for a really quick turn around I guess. That is unless someone knows how to get these DIMMS to boot at 4-4-4-12 on a ASUS P5B deluxe with a E6300???

I presume you have already set the voltage at 2.1v?

If you are RMAing your ram avoid the Corsair 6400 Dominator. I think it uses the cheap and cheerful promos chips instead of Micron D9 chips that all the good ram uses.

Didnt go that high, only used 1.9v and 2.0v. I will try this and get back.

doesnt it state on the memory or on the packaging that it needs 2.1v to 2.3v

Thanks, you must have read me mind as I was just looking for just that ...

I get a bit worried when playing with memvolts, sillly I know but better safe an all that ..

yep true, should always check the correct voltage to run it at then you know it should be safe.

Hope its working for ya now! :) , if not rma time :(

When my memory was faulty ocuk allowed me to get a full refund so i was able to order another set. Was only without memory for a day :)

It says "1.9V-2.3V Power Supply" on the packaging.

So its only faulty if it can't do 400 MHz (800 DDR) with timings of 4,4,4,12 @2.3v

OK, I couldnt get it too work untill I reset all my settings back to AUTO.
Basically wiping out my oc.

I then set the mem timings 4-4-4-12 but left the FSB at stock and all other settings to auto.

It Booted! And this is with the memvolt on auto :D

I then began to overclock again, however my vcore 1.25 didnt cut it and I had to set the vcore to 1.315. This is reported under CPU-Z as 1.275?

The FSB is now 400FSBx7multi = 2.8Ghz

Funny thing is that during boot my mobo is says memory is PC4200????????

Other than that everything else looks fine. Its like the mobo is seeing my memory as overclocked PC4200 instead of PC6400?

The Memory FSB setting under jumperfree Settings is set to 800Mhz so Im puzzled.

I just ran 3dmark06 and it ran (Score:8669 8800GTs@Stock), im running 05 now.

Any ideas why the mobo is reporting my mem wrong?

Im also having problems getting the 8800GTS fan speed to stick at 95% and not reset to 59% after I reboot. Apparently its because the NVIDA 97.XX driver is pants :( At the mo im setting manually everytime I boot. Hence why I havent OC'd the graphics card yet :( But the card runs at 57C cold boot and rises to 67C under operation, this in turn warms my case and my CPU temps creep up 48C!!! Idle and 55C under load. Im going to get a exhaust fan to run under the card but does any one else suffer from this? I have 80mm x6case fans at the moment so was shocked to see that :(

Is there another driver I could run?

Alf

Its reporting your mem as 4200 as you are running a divider, so its just assuming thats the base speed. Ignore it, as long as its running the right speed who cares what the mobo thinks ;)
