Geil problem ?

hi,

I thik my GeIL Golden Dragon PC3200 400MHz Dual Channel DDR Kit is behaving dodgy ?! :confused:

it will not pass memtest or MemTest-86 some errors will come up i pres ok and pc will crash.
I'm not a gamer person but pc will crash on Fear o AOM , Google Earth will crash to .
however i don't get any crashes under normal windows xp tasks even under heavy load

Bios settings remain default

my ring

Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
P4 3GHz
2x512MB DDR
HIS 9800 Pro Cat 6.5 never overclock
WD 740GD
SOUND BLASTER X-FI
Tagan TG480-U01 (480W)

NIS 2006

Ad-Aware

i was thinking about changing this ram to
2x Geil Value 1Gb PC3200 Dual Chan DDR Kit (2x512MB) (Cas 2.5 6-3-3) £65

or if any better under £150 this mobo can take please let me know

Wouldn't you be better off with a 2x1Gb kit instead of 4 512mb modules?

Contact Geil about your RAM too, you may be able to return it

1GB modules Cas 3 8-4-4 and 512MB Cas 2.5 6-3-3 so wouldn't be 512MB modules faster ?

Geil Value 2x1Gb kits will run 2.5-3-3-6 fine, I've seen lots of kits do it (including my own), they also will hold their value better in case you upgrade in future.
