Hi All,

I hope by posting this someone will be able to help me.

I bought some GeIL RAM approx 2 years ago from Overclockers UK; this was for my first build and everything when well. However it always had a problem at random times it will cause the PC to lock/freeze up for no more than 15sec and then carry on as normal until it does it again. Now I’ve lived with it as I now have a laptop and can you that, but I would now like to get this sorted and as GeIL RAM has a life time warranty I thought why not.

I should say that I have tried replacing the following Maxtor HD, Motherboard and PSU. So I’m 99% sure it’s the RAM.

However and hears where I need some help having read through this thread firstly who do I deal with OCUK or GeIL and secondly how do I prove the RAM if faulty?

I have ran Memtest and get a screen of red when it gets to test 5, is there anyway of getting a report from Memtest or even a screenshot?

Or maybe you have another suggestion to solve my problem.

Thanks in advance.

James

Contact OcUK, as far as I know they handle all RMA's to GeIL (they did mine). They will test the memory for you, if bust they'll send new stuff, if not they'll send it back (and charge you the postage).

I too got errors in test 5 with one of my GeIL modules. Given the RMA experience I had with OcUK (as you have read) I would suggest you deal direct with GeIL.
