I'm in a bit of a pickle concerning the ram, or at least I think it is. 90% of the time when I exit from games, the screen goes FUBAR. At first I though it would be the graphics card, so I tryed the 7300GT from my data server and no joy. Also, programs randomly crash the PC, there isn't a BSOD they just lock the pc and force it to reboot.

The ram is 2x 1GB PC6400 rated at 4-4-4-12 2.1V . I've tryed setting it to auto (5-5-5-18 1.8V) and using auto but 2.1V, nothing works. Is it a case of the ram being incompatable with the chipset?

If you need a pic of the FUBAR'd screen, let me know.

Running 4gb of the Geil DDR2 PC6400 on my EVGA 680i board with no problems at all. Sure it's the ram?

That's quite an OC on the FSB of the 680i. I didn't think the Northbridge could take that. 474 is quite high, that might be the source of your errors.

Download and unzip this and burn the resultant .iso to a CD using something like Nero's Burn Image To Disk option.

its the north bridge and south bridge over heating

pull the pipes off clean off the putty thats ther and refitt with AS5 , this lowers the temps a lot linky

Prolly gonna have to do that with my Asus P5N32-E SLI (680i) getting some random memory related errors even tho the memory itself passes memtest fine and is running 266MHz lower that its max stable overclock.
