GeIL RMA with OCUK?

Yes they do need to test and then let you know when they send to replacement, they just want to check as well to see what is the problems - you will get replacement once they email you to let you know when they dispatch new one.

Rma'd mine a few weeks back and got to say they were superquick!...must have took about 3days.

I emailed them yesterday midnight but no reply yet :( I hope it all goes well.

Do I have to send back both sticks? I found 600+ errors on one stick within a few minutes but the other stick seems to be okay.

Tested the RAM on my Asus P5K motherboard and it found errors too on the same RAM stick, so it's definitely not a problem with my motherboard but a problem with the RAM itself.

Do I have to return both RAM sticks or just the faulty one?

*** geil memory do u have. is it the ultra low latency version or the value one? i had a stick fail on me and sent it 2 sticks back to overclockers, and they have no stock  i emailed them and they said it can take up to 28 days for the replacement :( anyone know if overclockers will do refunds or credit? i've had these sticks for about 5-6 months.

all you do is send RMA by same one when OCUK send you 1st goods - you return same one like 2 stick into cover and invoice and put into same box and then make label return address with RMA numbers -- Iver returned and already got refunded in 24 hrs so I got money back already -- it very quick.

I have this RAM http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-GL

Going to send off my GeIL RAM next week for RMA to OCUK. It states in the terms:

6. Packaging - Returned items must be packaged properly and shipped in a plain outer box.

I'm going to package the GeIL RAM in it's original packaging but can I also just wrap it in a jiffy bag? I don't have any plain small boxes to package it.

Did you get errors on your faulty RAM with memtest? Did OCUK test the RAM and find errors too?

I had 1 error on 1 stick in memtest @ rated voltage and timings...tested in 2 boards same error cropped up...and OCUK must have seen the same error otherwise they would have returned it back to me with a bill.

Good to hear. I'm just worried about getting billed £10 + shipping + VAT as I read that someone here got their RAM returned as not faulty, although I'm pretty sure my RAM is faulty.

BTW, how did you package the RAM when sending it to OCUK and did they refund you the cost of shipping it to them?

Cheers
