OK, just got a 2Gb kit of the Geil ULL to replace some of the memory i already had.

Before i had 2x1Gb Geil PC5300 and 2x512Mb Geil ULL 800 all running happy at 4-4-4-12

Now ive removed the 2x1GB PC5300 and replaced it with the 2x1Gb ULL stuff so now i have 3Gb of ULL.

Problem is it wont run at 800Mhz with all 4 sticks in, best i can get it happy at is 667Mhz as before.

Ive tried each pair of ULL on its own and both the 2Gb kit and 1Gb kit work perfectly at 800Mhz on thier own so the RAM isnt faulty.

Its annoying that i have 800Mhz RAM and knowing if i want to use it all i have to run at 667Mhz. I may as well put the 5300 back in and run 4Gb at 667 :(

Have you tried lossening the timings on the RAM, i've heard that when using all 4 banks it can sometimes cause problems with tighter timings, (or in this case stock).

Yes voltage is at 2.08v ( closest i can get with the strange options given on my mobo )

Either kit works fine at rated speed when used alone but not together.

Ive not tried lossenning the timings i'll try that next :)

I think it must just be the motherboard that dosent like 4 sticks @ 800Mhz as its fine @ 667 4-4-4-12, loosening the timings @ 800 didnt help at all

It's not that big an issue with the nVidia chipset as you have the luxury of being able to run your memory slower.

You could try to lower the timings a bit.

Yeah thats what i was doing anyhow with having a mixture of 667 and 800.

Still id rather have 3Gb at 667 than 2 at 800.

Hmm, i womder if updating the BIOS on my mobo will help as there is a newer one out
