Geil Value 5-5-5-15? SPD wrong?

Right i got 2x 2x1gb kits of the geil value stuff from ocuk.

it says on there that this ram is 5-5-5-15 stuff, but cpu-z says the SPD reports it as 5-5-5-18?

now i dont actually care but any ideas why its saying this ? long shot but just investigating why my board wont boot at >370fsb

i think the SPD is just what the bios looks at to boot up from. you will need to up the DDR2 voltage 0.1 or so and it should be fine..

Does changing from 18 to 15 actually do much?

I have never changed the settings for RAM and have the same kit

Well it probably won't do THAT much but it does matter. Just change it. As for the FSB booting thingy. Up the voltage of the RAM, look on the geilusa site what your max voltage or your normal voltage is and set it to that. The motherboard defaults to the SPD and 1.8v normally for compatibilty reasons.

Still wont boot on 2 sticks, 2.2v anything. think its just the motehrboard

No not really, timings matter very little on C2D systems, Tras is a minor timing at best.

plenty of people still believe it to be true mate, its amazing how many people give overclocking advice that would be great for a XP2500m but totaly irrelevant to a C2D system.
